Day Three: Shell Falls, Bighorn National Forest to Greybull, Wyoming to Tensleep Canyon
Sunday, June 8, 1997

The styrofoam cooler busted before we crested the Bighorn peaks.
The plastic water jugs sloshed and sprung a few leaks--
In the back of the Blazer that Memphis and Bill rented.
At least when they turned it back in, it was not dented.

The boys were up at dawn a brewing a pot.
Yessir, the campfire was more smoky than hot.
But, that first Mountain Man breakfast sure tasted fine.
As well as the blueberry pie on which we did dine.

This was the dawn of out first camping day.
Except fer the tough ones that drove all the way.
Shell Creek gently babbled or maybe it roared.
I could not quite tell last night, 'cause somebody snored.

After cleaning the dishes with soapy water and paper towels,
Some headed up the road to the Johnny to empty their, er, well you can quess.
Way up on a ridge, we was watched by some deer,
While we said goodby to the campsite and loaded our gear.
