A Cold Wet Evening

Campsite along Tie Flume
Tie Flume Campground

The Tie Flume campsite was a very beautiful spot in a high mountain meadow with a gentle stream. This was in contrast to the our other campsites along roaring streams along the steeper flanks of the Bighorns at Tensleep Canyon and Shell Creek. We struggled to get a fire going with the wet damp wood and then cooked dinner which consisted of eggs, eggs, and more eggs because we had a cooler full of eggs to get rid of. There was also some leftover corned-beef from two days back but nobody wanted to eat it except Cooky. So Cooky had a nice portion of greasy corned beef with his eggs.

Sunset

As the sun set and finishing up dinner, a cold wind soon commenced to blow and a rainy mist enveloped the campsite. Some folks grumbled but since dinner was over and the dishes cleaned, we all settled into our tents. As long as we could keep dry that was all that mattered.
